Antelope Highlands occupies the middle of the community, and its best feature is proximity: the 41-acre Antelope Community Park on Palmerson Drive, with its ball fields, seven tennis courts, and the aquatic complex, sits close enough to reach without crossing town. The homes are single-family tract stock from the planned build-out of the late 1980s and 1990s, laid out on the quiet cul-de-sacs and looping streets that define most of Antelope. Daily errands are easy here. The Antelope Road and Watt Avenue retail corridors, anchored by big-box and grocery centers, are a few minutes south, and Center Joint Unified campuses serve the area. What separates this pocket from the ones farther out is that the park does real work as an everyday backyard rather than a place you have to plan a trip around. The tradeoff is sameness. This is standard-issue suburban tract housing, so streetscapes repeat and the tree canopy is decent rather than mature, and a few blocks sit within earshot of the busier connector roads. Still, for a central Antelope address with a genuine community park inside easy reach, the Highlands is one of the more practical picks in town.
