Neighborhood Reviews & Questions

Neighborhood Review

Rollingwood earns its name on the drive in, where the streets follow low rises instead of flattening them. It is the largest of Orangevale's named pockets, spread across the southeast of the community between Lincoln Palisades, Madison Oaks and the open Orangevale core, on ground that tilts toward the American River corridor to the south. The housing is established and varied, with some of the roomier lots that give this part of Sacramento County its semi-rural feel. Hazel Avenue is the spine for shopping and the southern connection toward Highway 50, while the river gorge and its trails sit within reach below the neighborhood. The tradeoff is the usual one for the area: services cluster on the arterials and the layout assumes a car for nearly everything. What keeps Rollingwood on buyers' lists is the mix of space, mature trees and grade, a quieter, greener stretch of Orangevale than the tracts sitting closer to Greenback.
