Neighborhood Reviews & Questions

Neighborhood Review

Rancho Murieta North spreads across the larger side of the community, north of Highway 16, and it is the newer of the two villages. Where South grew up around the country club, North filled in later with more open space, a chain of small lakes, and homes that skew newer and more uniform. The layout runs on the master plan: gated entries, generous lots, and greenbelts and trails looping past the water. The lakes are the signature here. Lake Calero and Lake Chesbro anchor a water and trail network whose paths give the north side an outdoor pull that does not depend on a golf membership. Homes are clean and well-kept, though the newer phases carry the thinner canopy that comes before the oaks fill in. A small commercial plaza covers the basics. The catch is the same one, only sharper on this larger, spread-out side: you are a good drive from a full grocery run, a hospital, and the freeway, out on foothill grassland where wildfire and single-road access are real worries. The gates and HOA govern how things look. What North trades the drive for is water, trails, and newer construction inside the same private, green envelope, with the club and its fairways a short drive south.
