West Tahoe Park is a small central-east neighborhood just west of the Tahoe Park area, bounded roughly by Broadway to the north, 14th Avenue to the south, Stockton Boulevard to the west, and 53rd Street to the east. The housing is largely mid-century and older homes on a compact grid, an established and reasonably affordable pocket sitting close to several busier neighborhoods. Its calling card is the Stockton Boulevard corridor along its western edge, the heart of Sacramento's Little Saigon and one of the deepest concentrations of restaurants and markets in the region. The UC Davis Medical Center is nearby and the light rail on the Highway 50 line is within reach. The tradeoffs are arterial traffic, especially along Stockton, and the friction that comes with older homes. Neither is unusual for this part of the city, and both are reflected in the price. The appeal is a vintage central-east house steps from one of the best food corridors in Sacramento at a moderate cost. For anyone who wants that Little Saigon flavor within walking distance of the front door, West Tahoe Park is hard to beat on value.
