The homes are the ranch-era single-family stock that fills this part of the community, on regular lots, with upkeep that shifts from well-tended to workaday depending on the block. Its west-side location puts it closer to the commercial spine of Fulton and El Camino, which means shopping is genuinely near for once, at the cost of a little more traffic and less of the estate greenery found to the south and east. For a central, moderately priced address with real retail close at hand, Santa Anita is a practical pick, though it lacks the marquee park or river access that lifts the pricier corners of Arden-Arcade.
