Sacramento Executive Airport is the city's general-aviation field, set in South Land Park off Freeport Boulevard, and it is an airfield rather than a neighborhood. The footprint is runways, hangars, aviation businesses, and the open buffer land around them, and nobody lives inside the boundary. Its role is as a reliever airport for private and corporate aircraft and a base for aviation jobs and services. For the surrounding South Land Park, Hollywood Park, and Mangan Park neighborhoods, it is a mixed presence. On one side it brings jobs and the convenience of general aviation close to home. On the other it brings light-aircraft noise overhead, a real and regular fact of life for the houses nearby. As a place to live it is purely an airfield, so both its value and its cost land on the residential neighborhoods that border it rather than on anyone inside the fence. Worth noting for those neighbors: the Bing Maloney golf complex sits adjacent, sharing this same pocket of South Land Park and softening the edge with a stretch of green.
