It is one of the smaller named pockets here, a quiet cluster of 1960s and 1970s single-family homes set back from the busier arterials. The eastern position gives it a couple of quiet advantages. The Foothill Golf Course lies nearby in Citrus Heights, and the retail along Elkhorn and toward Greenback is a short drive, so daily errands are covered without living on a boulevard. Public open space inside the pocket itself is the standard neighborhood-park kind. What you give up is distinctiveness. This is modest, affordable, older housing with the uneven upkeep and elevated-crime backdrop common to the area, not a standout enclave. Twin Rivers Unified serves the schools. For a buyer drawn to the eastern, slightly removed end of Foothill Farms with a golf course nearby, Foothill Oaks is a low-key option.
