Dutch Haven is a small residential pocket on Elverta's eastern edge, built around Dutch Haven Boulevard between Elverta Road and Watt Avenue. It is one of the more conventional subdivisions in an otherwise agricultural community, with houses on ordinary lots rather than the multi acre parcels found to the west, and a corner market handling the basics. What it shares with the rest of Elverta is distance: public parks are limited, services and the freeways sit well off, and Sacramento International's flight paths run overhead to the west. What sets it apart is being a compact, straightforward block of homes in a place otherwise defined by horse property and open field, which is its own kind of appeal for anyone who wants the rural setting without the acreage to maintain.
