Curtis Park is one of the most beloved of central Sacramento's older neighborhoods, a streetcar-era grid wrapped around its namesake park just south of downtown and Midtown. The housing is the headline every time: Craftsman bungalows, Tudors, and storybook cottages lining shaded streets, with the green of Curtis Park itself and the Sierra 2 Center, a former school turned community hub, holding the middle. The neighborhood also picked up a modern edge. The newer Curtis Park Village, built on the old Western Pacific railyard along the southern boundary, added homes, a grocery, and retail, while light rail and Sacramento City College sit close by.
